Question by HumbertH6: Will it ever be possible to play online with different game consoles?
Is it possible? You know, assuming they settle their differences and everything else(!), is the technology there for that kind of converter?

You mean like will Call of Duty players who play on X-box eve be able to play multiplayer with PS3-goers?

It?s not the console, but rather the developer who does this sort of separation. In theory you could have the game on two different consoles connect to the same server for multiplayer. If I remember correctly, Phantasy Star Online was on a ton of consoles, and it used the same system. A few newer fps?s might do the same, considering the popularity of PC shooters, and the number of people who get it for console for lack of a powerful PC.

Code, hardware, and programming language have small to do with the possibility. A Unix system can write to and read from a text file the same as Windows can. It just depends if the author wants to spend the time to enable cross-platform play.

What do you reckon? Answer below!
