SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Kings have given the boot to head coach Paul Westphal after a disappointing 2-5 start to the season and controversy with?center DeMarcus Cousins.

The Kings named assistant coach Keith Smart as head coach.? Smart, 47, came over in the off-season from the?Golden State Warriors where he was head coach last season before being fired in April, 2011. At the helm of Warriors, Smart compiled a 36-46 record.
